We have a suspected cockerel that we assume is 12 weeks old and breed is unknown. Two days ago right before closing the coop, I noticed that its wing was drooping and slightly larger and upon inspecting it, I see that it's wing is swollen and there's a patch of skin with fluid. I let my mom know and while I was away, she said she drained the fluid filled patch which had clear fluid and blood and cleaned it up with antiseptic hydrogen peroxide and antibiotic ointment.

This is it now (see picture). The yellow colored parts are hard to the touch and warm. The patch is no longer pink and now a dark color and hard (I assumed scabbed from what my mom did). My mom said the fluid smelled and I agree. I don't see any ingrown feathers/feather cysts? The white bumps were feathers that I plucked out to see better.

Not sure what to do as we cannot afford a vet. The chick eats, drinks, and roosts/sleeps normally. The chick also lives with another suspected cockerel its age separated from the rest of the adult hens. My mom lets them out sometimes (I don't bc I suspect its a cockerel and don't want it eating the layer feed) so it could be an injury from something outside or the adults.

From the picture it almost looks like the bird was hanging up by something caught on the wing. I can see a circular mark on the end by your fingers. Is it possible it got caught up on a fence or netting? I'll tag some others here to help you.

Sorry for the late update. The yellow swelling parts are going down and a bit darker yellow now. The scab is still hard to the touch but now a dome (like it's round not flat anymore like the pic) and some liquid still comes out if disturbed. Chick is still behaving, eating, drinking, and sleeping normally.

After you mentioned that it might've got caught on something I went around my yard removing anything that could've been responsible like broken branches. My mom uses wire to surround plants to protect her plants from the chickens and I replaced them with blunt sticks just in case.
