Sympathetic broody?

My Black Australorp, Hazel, hasn't laid an egg since Kevin, my Appenzeller Spitzhauben, went broody. Now that it's time to hatch (more on that in another post) I found this tiny egg in the run. Shown next to RIR and EE eggs from Big Red and Shirley.
I know this is called a fairy egg or fart egg but could it mean a return to laying for Hazel?
She has been acting normal through all of this so I haven't been concerned about her health.

I have a speckled sussex named Hazel too!

Have you checked for egg boundness?

How long has she not been laying?

Sometimes mine just take breaks and be lazy. Lol

She is 15 months old. She hasn't laid in 3 weeks (since Kevin went broody).
She is not squatting or straining like she's trying to lay and her energy and mood are perky as usual.

Possibly she will begin laying again or she is taking a break. Fairy eggs happen anytime during a layers life.
