Name: Charlie
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Pronouns: She/her
User ID: 77
Personality: She tries really hard to be cool and hardened, but then she opens her mouth. She's optimistic and tends to be the "mom friend." She's been through a lot, but won't talk about her past if she can avoid it. She's very open about her current state, and is bad at keeping secrets, but if you ask about her family she'll shut down.
Picture/Description: She resembles a tree, in more ways than one. She is 6'4", with pale green skin and red hair, shaved on one side. Her irises are a mix of red, orange, and brown. Her nails are also red, and bear a mild resemblance to talons.
Username: @Rubysword
Other (weaknesses, habits, or special abilities): Her skin is green because it contains cloroplasts, so she doesn't require as much food. Her eyes are a hybrid of human and ave designs, so she can see extra colors and has amazing acuity, but retains her ability to see far and her night vision. She has ADHD and always manages to store a crochet project or some form of textile stimulation somewhere on her person. She will occasionally stim, mostly with some kind of smell.
(Sure, I'll write something up later today.)Ow. Why does my head hurt so much? I didn't stay out that long,, did I? Shoot, this doesn't feel like my bed, shoot shoot shoot...
Charlie jolted out of her half asleep state with a snort and sat up. Her head collided with something solid and she fell backwards, groaning.
Where am I? I didn't have a field exercise scheduled, did I? She rolled onto her stomach and peered around. She appeared to be in a very cramped cave, and luckily she could see some light, not so far away. She crawled uphill towards the opening, breathing a sigh of relief asthma cave opened up more. She wasn't super claustrophobic or anything, but not having a full range of motion made her uneasy. As the world outside the cave came into view, she breathed in sharply. This sure wasn't Gunsan.
She forced herself to regulate her breathing as she looked over the landscape before her. She took a step forward and stopped, looking down at the backpack at her feet. She squatted and picked it up. "Oh, heck yeah!" She left the consumable items in the pack, but removed the pair of Kamas and gave them an experimental twirl before strapping them to the sides of her leather jacket. She stood and slung the bag over her back, glancing back into the cave. I'd better figure out where I am.

Dex wasn't sure how long he had been walking, having lost all sense of time long ago. His ears laid flat against his head, growing increasingly more frustrated with every step that lead to nowhere. The birds screaming in his eardrums did nothing to help.
Where are you going? They'd taunt. You're just getting yourself deeper in the woods. You're terrible with directions, aren't you? Should've paid more attention to your father.
Or, at least that's what he imagined they were saying.
He tried to ignore them. He really did. But as the ache in his feet grew, his patience only dwindled, being whittled away like bark under a knife.
He lowered his bag to the ground, dropping the krabong next it.
"Fine, be this way," he hissed, marching towards the nearest tree. He scaled it with ease, having been something he was no stranger to, and crouched, his tail anxiously swishing behind him.
Once one of the birds grew brave enough to approach him, he attacked, snatching the bird out of the air.
"Let this be a warning," he announced, raising it over his head, "to shut up. If you don't, you'll end up like your brother over here." He lowered his hand, pleased at how quickly the birds stopped chirping. That is, until the one he held captive disappeared into a cloud of red smoke, leaving nothing but a tiny silver coin.
He raised his ears, tilting his head in confusion. It was just here, he thought, searching the tree branch he was perched on. Where did it go?
With a shake of his head, he stood, leaping off the branch with a roll as his feet hit the ground. There was no time to ask questions. Not until he found other people.
Not that he wanted, or needed, to be around others. Dex was perfectly content to spend the rest of his life alone.
He swung his bag over his shoulder, picking up his weapon and pocketing his newly acquired coin. With a deep exhale, he continued forward, hoping to find some trace of humanoid life.
(Feel free to throw one of your characters at him. If not, I'll probably just throw him in with Sarah and Butter's charries. if that's okay with you guys, of course.)
Dex' feet began to ache as he trudged through the never-ending forest. At some point, he expected the to trees to thin, giving way into something other than woods. A city, perhaps, but he would take anything at this point. The expanse of trees was starting to make him uncomfortable, as he realized just how alone and isolated he was. He knew finding a weapon was supposed to help ease the fear, but it just made it worse. Why would he need one unless there was danger?Ow. Why does my head hurt so much? Charlie knelt to the ledge and swung around, her feet finding purchase on the rough rocks as she began to climb down to more level ground. She scrambled down the mountain face in short order, turning and making a beeline to some shrubs peeking out of a rock formation. She knelt and held her hand out towards them, closing her eyes and inhaling. Sun. Wind. Not a lot of water, but they are strong. Lizard. Man... with a staff... Her eyes shot open and she spun around, grabbing her kamas and raising to a defensive stance.Dex' feet began to ache as he trudged through the never-ending forest. Why would he need one unless there was danger?
Almost like his vision glitched, his surroundings rippled, blue flashing over everything. Had his eyesight not been as good as it was, he might've missed it. His ears perked up, his fist tightening around the krabong. The trees were gone, replaced by rocky terrain. a little farther up was a mountain, with noticeable caves throughout the surface. He spun in a slow circle, as a chilling realization occurred. the trees were gone. He hadn't just exited the forest, but the forest had all together vanished. there was nothing for as far as he could see, besides the rocky mountain in front of him, and desert behind him.
Dex flicked his tail, slowly moving forward. His attention was drawn to the tall woman that emerged from a cave not too far up, her bright red hair like a beacon. He crept behind one of the boulders, crouching as he held his weapon at the ready. Once she was close enough, he would attack, and then maybe he could finally get answers.
Dex kept his breath slow and steady, closing his eyes as he listened to the approaching footsteps. His tail was the only thing that moved, flicking back and forth like a pendulum as he waited. Much to his confusion, she didn't come the way he had expected, instead turning away to look at something else. He opened his eyes, peering around the boulder to see where she was. "Who are you, and where are we?"
Charlie's eyes narrowed as the man smacked her shin with his staff, baring her teeth as he demanded answers from her.Dex kept his breath slow and steady, closing his eyes as he listened to the approaching footsteps. As she turned and caught eye of him, Dex struck, using his krabong to swipe her legs with one fluid motion. Only, he overestimated his strength, and instead knocking her over, his weapon hit her shin and bounced back.
His ears flattened to his head as she drew two weapons of her own, standing in a defensive pose. Shoot.
Now that he was crouched directly in front of her, he realized just how big she was. She looked to be a good foot taller than him, perhaps more, if he were to stand next to her
"Funny, I was going to ask you the same thing," he retorted, holding a glare as he adjusted the weapon in his sweaty palms. "The first hit was only a warning, so I'd suggest you start talking." He wasn't sure how good she was at distinguishing lies from the truth, but for his own sake, he hoped she was bad.
