I won't be joining any...
I don't have enough knowledge on either party to create an educated opinion on the topic.

exactly - which is why I don't see it as a republican or democrat thing - they all ought to be fired.

Can we have a do-over?

just kidding, too simplistic, but...

This mess has been going on for many years and many administrations - both republican and democrat. It is just at the point now where more people are starting to pay attention.

It's about time

Well, since you are not a moderator or the admin, and since they have decided that as long as the conversation is polite, then it can go on - it seems that you are the one not being polite or adding to the original topic.

If you do not like this thread, then you are free to ignore it.
If you wish to close it down by starting trouble, then by all means - get yourself into trouble with the moderators for trolling - be my guest.

yea im tired of the reps blaming the dems
and the dems blaming the reps

i dont see how one party or the other can call themselves christians

Yep, cw - watching the various "news" reports is like watching a room full of kindergarteners arguing over who gets to eat the paste first.

Watching the politicians is worse.

Makes you want to give up sometimes and just put up a 12 foot fence around your property and hide there.
That wouldn't solve anything, however, so we have TEA parties - and whether that solves anything either, well, at least people feel like someone listened to them.

Very well spoken Davaroo.

Our government is convinced that we work for them and many folks in this country feel that the rest of us should provide "cradle to grave" care and support as well. It's quite shameful, but not surprising in this "everyone gets a trophy" world.

The days of rewarding excellence may be over. Many have been bamboozled into equating success with greed. With incentives for success slowly being eroded, it's just a matter of time before what makes our country special is gone.

It's trading rights and freedoms for security no matter how you slice it.

And if you believe that politicians (no matter what the affiliation) are going to take care of you, you are very naive. The government has run no differently than GM. It loses money and soon will not be able to pay it's retirement benefits (social security).

We need much less government, not more...

Absolutely. Like most people, I have some opinions that would be labeled conservative and some others that would be labeled liberal. But my overriding opinion is that the system is incredibly corrupt, rigged, bought, all that. Pork barrel.

I have wondered what would happen if being an attorney would become out of favor as a credential for being a senator, rep, governor, etc. Think about Jimmy Carter. Certainly no savior.... but evidently a good guy. What if the legislatures were made up of his ilk? What if it were filled with nurses, small business owners, mechanics, farmers, teachers, and so forth?

What a breath of fresh air that would be!
