Mojo Chick'n :
When I posted earlier of how this thread is like riding a roller coaster...
Reading all the posts this morning I felt hopeful, proud, angry, disgusted, patriotic, and sometimes like I was simply bashing my head against a brick wall. Not all in that order, and not all just once.
Does anyone else feel that while trying to talk politics?
I did not, however, see any one post that said "everything is fine, we can just coast now and let the administration take care of things". Even though we disagree on what the answers are here, if we can get past the "teabagging" insults, and the "my media is more honest than your media" fantasies, we all are basically saying the same thing to differing degrees - "the American Government is broken and it needs to be fixed".
I don't believe that Obama is the devil, I also am not under any fantasy that Bush or any republican or democrat is a saint. I think that they don't have a clue what goes on in "our" world (regular folks) and they need to get back in touch with that or be ousted from office.
I was offended by the Press Secretary's mocking and dismissing the protestors. I can get past the media "journalists" doing so, but to have someone who is supposed to represent the man who represents The People to behave that way was childish and, frankly, a little frightening.
It also illustrates perfectly the fact that the administration doesn't care one tiny bit about what The People want or have to say - they are going to do what they want to do anyway. They believe that we are not part of the equation. They believe they have the power to do whatever, whenever and to whomever they please, and we can't say Boo about it.
Even if you believe that "tea parties" are ridiculous - do you therefore believe that Your Own Voice should be dismissed so easily by those who are here to ensure our Freedoms? Do you not feel even the slightest bit Disenfranchised by those who hold our future in their hands?
