Do you actually think that greed and corruption sprung up in the last 200 years of humankind? Capitalism with democracy is the best system. Our great country proves that as we sit in a role (good and bad) as protectors of the world.

What our founders didn't take into account was that Americans would grow lazy and uninterested in educating themselves on the basic tenets of our Constitution, Bill of Rights and Rule of Law, which is a shining beacon for all nations.

The opportunities that this country provides are limitless. There's a reason why folks around the world are literally dying to get here to live.

If you think these things need to be changed, maybe you need to go live somewhere else for awhile to gain a greater appreciation of it. I'm sure there are millions of folks who would trade you for their opportunity of the American dream.

And there are a million who would not.
With that said, we as leaders of free nations have become lazy, we want things, but we are unwilling to work for them. We would rather sit around blaming others for our failures.
I really do not want to agrue, that rarely get us anywhere.
We as a nation need to pull up our bootstraps and work togeter towards a common goal. We have yet to figure out what that common goal is, all I have heard is that things are not working. True enough, what should we do about it?

No, we don't. We need to be able to individually pursue our own paths and suffer the consequences of our individual decisions as well as reap the benefits.

I'm sorry, you lost me on that part. Capitalism allows greed to flourish. I don't think Capitalism is evil. It just has to have some controls put on it. Otherwise you end up like we are now. If there are no controls on it you end up with 2 classes. Rich and poor. I know that a lot of people on this line are experts on what the founding fathers thought and intended. I don't think they intended for the rich and powerful to have 90% of the wealth in the country. I could be wrong though. I wasn't there.

I am sorry but I cannot agree with you on this. That would be like a mule team going in two different directions nothing gets done. I do agree that we need to be free to be individuals but we do need to work together to make this country what it was many many years ago.

Isnt that the million or should I say Billion dollar question.

I agree. How are we suppose to get anything acomplished if everyone is going in different directions?

Yes, we need to take responsibility for our own actions and beable to make individual decisions, but we aslo need to stand as a nation together. We can not survive as a billion little individual countries.

To say we have to go in the same direction is to say we all have to agree to get anything done. People will NEVER agree on things 100%.

When this country was founded, it wasn't like 100% of the population decided we all needed to be a free country.

How are we suppose to get anything acomplished if everyone is going in different directions?

By people PURSUING THEIR OWN HAPPINESS the rest of us can see what works and what doesn't.

Rep Dan Itse of New Hampshire told Glen Beck that HR45 the Holt Bill has been folded into the Stimulus package. This is disturbing and sad this has been sneaked past us in this fashion. We are no longer a democracy, congress and the executive branch simply just do whatever they want with complete disregard to the people.

PURSUING THEIR OWN HAPPINESS is what most people and corporations on welfare are doing. How does that work again?

When cattle are driven in a specific direction, they do not necessarily follow the exact same path, but they go the same direction and ulimately end up at the same destination. And as far as I can see, people PURSUING THEIR OWN HAPPINESS is part of what has gotten us in to this mess.
