Just what did Bush do that you think is so hoirrible? I do believe Iraq was a mistake, but with the information he had
I believe he thought he was doing the right thing. Remember the invasion was supported by a lot of Democrats initially.

Actually proposed by Clinton and Gore while they were still in office, and it is the origination of the WMD accusations and intelligence.

He took the ball and ran with it. I think Bush knew darn good and well that there were no WMD's. We'll never know since Obama has decided that the country has much more urgent issues than to investigate or prosecute things that happened in the last administration. I happen to agree with that. Our republican congress wasted a whole year investigating Clinton and what he could get for free that they had to pay for.

Yes a lot of dems did vote for the war. That's because America was in an anti Muslim furor at the time. Being politicians they voted for what they thought would help them, get re-elected. Bush took advantage of that and as always the fear of the people. Their threat level color system was a great political tool (Carl Rove may be a diabolical monster but he is one smart monster). So we let Osama go play in the mountains and do some more planning against the USA.

No cwc362, you dont live in a bubble, the media aint reportin on it that much. It dont go with the lefts agenda. Google is your friend. For some reason people have decided that this is a left versus right thing. It aint. Its a government has gotten out of control thing. Both the left and right. I am HARD to the right. I have watched my party fall by the wayside. Its sad. I have friends on the left and some of them are beginning to feel that way with the current administration.

Just so you know, I dont feel like Bush was a conservative, so please dont put me and his policies together.

Amen on that! (re Bush) I totally agree with you on that, kinda liked his first term, 2nd not at all!!! I and my hubby are both hard to the right!! Would loved to have gone to the 2 in my area but had to work, gotta pay for the chickie feed

Agreed and I am trying, I thank the mods for letting this go on, it is needed and enlightening. A little fun is OK outright personal to posters insults though it might make us chuckle if not on the receiving end does not further anyone's cause.

Public figures not posting are typically exempt to a degree. When the insults are being thrown to enlist a angry response instead of healthy debate then the line has been crossed.

Yep, I have even softened my ideas on Beak

Yesterday I was feeling sort of nasty minded towards poor old Beak - today I can somewhat see that point of view - even if I disagree with it, I can understand where it comes from.

We can all disagree without being nasty to each other, though.

Politics are a hot topic - more so for me than religion (with religion your beliefs don't usually affect me directly, with politics, they do because of who you vote into office).

But - we gots ta stop the Hatin' and start Participatin'

Kool Aid has been mentioned a couple of times. Read a bit of the Bio of the man who dispensed it, and his entrance into the public venue, then read the same for our current leader. Scary,Huh?

Yes, he won his suit against CU. Next month the judge has to decide weather to make CU give him his job back or compensate him for what he would have made since they fired him till he would've reached retirement. See, your guaranteed freedom of speech even when it is vile and hateful.

If you're talking about Jim Jones, that's not really a fair comparison. I think Rush would be more appropriate.

What about the free speech of right wing extremists? Is that guaranteed also? Common sense speech is also guaranteed...

Also just because somebody can call people names does not make it right.

Mojo Chick'n :

I do not like Green eggs and ham!
I do not like them Sam-I-Am!!

sorry, had to get random a minute.

This was going so nicely folks - disagreeing with some "close but not too close" insults (well, I was having fun, anyway).

Let's all calm down and keep the thread open.
