T.Rex related to chickens....

Thought you all might get a kick out of this. There's already been strong evidence of birds being direct descendants of dinosaurs, but now there's genetic proof.

WOW! I wonder if the T-Rex really had feathers, not reptile skin. I mean, how do they know what the skin was made of anyway, all they have is bones.

I saw an interesting artist rendering of the face of a juvenile T. Rex showing this described feathering feature. Darn...I can't find it now. Very interesting appearance though.

Now I'm confused.

I thought the Velociraptor was the one supposed to be related to Chickens?

I know on Jurassic Park, Chickens were the model they used for the Velociraptor running.

Jurassic Park could've used any grounded bird to simulate the velociraptor running...ostrich, emu, secretary bird, even the dodo if it were still in existance. Chickens would be a little easier to work with and favorable in size to create models. Though, it's very possible there's more than one dinosaur with such close genetic ties to specifically the chicken, but because of the lack of material to confirm such, it remains a simple thought and the T. Rex sample remains the genetic model that solidifies the theories and ideas of the evolution of dinosaurs to birds.

This also goes to show that some of these dinosaurs were able to survive the mass exinction that's said to have wiped out all of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Eventually, these survivors did fizzle out, but instead of literally dropping dead, they evolved into birds.

I had read that along time ago that chickens were related to the T rex and emus came from raptors and looking at a emus wing up close you can see it still has claws at the end tucked underneath useless but they are there I rememebered when i had them and found them pretty cool tho huh?

well there is a youtube video that shows a study that they put a fake t-rex tail on a chicken and I walked like a t-rex
