Table Scraps

My 5 week old ckicks can't get enough dried kelp. I went down the beach and picked 6 buckets and have been drying it and they love the stuff. I'm afraid to give them to much as they are still quite young.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I work at a healthy pet food store and we sell Organic dried kelp by the bucket full! It's great for all animals (as far as I know, never heard of giving it to chickens). Kelp helps with cleaning out the digestive tract and has over 60 minerals and vitamins, is high in fiber, an anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, a thyroid regulator and boosts stamina and endurance!
So even though I've never heard of giving it to chickens- I can only assume it would be benefical! I should bring some home for mine.

I'm still trying to figure out what my ladies like. They seem to be a little pickier than I thought they would be. They didn't even go nuts for watermelon or strawberries. Today I gave them some Honey bunches of oats w/almonds and they barely touched it. So far the one thing I find they do love is YOGURT! They went crazy the time I gave it them. What are some of your chickens favorite treats??? What about scratch? Should I buy some of that or wait until the winter to introduce it?

How old are they? When mine were chicks they only ate their starter, boiled eggs, and mealworms. That's all they would eat until I got them an outside pen at 6 weeks. Now my 5 girls are 11 weeks old and eat just about anything that isn't too big to swallow. I think they get more willing to try new foods as they get older. They eat grass, bird seed, BOSS, eggs, bugs, and their starter/grower in the morning and evening.
