Table top incubators safe for chicks?

I have an LG and, yes, have had chicks touch the element with their heads. It's sad to hear them cry after they do. Because of that, I tend to take the chicks out and put them in the brooder a little sooner than I probably should, but luckily that hasn't caused me problems. Yet. It doesn't help that I struggle with getting/keeping humidity up in mine, so I lay a damp 12" towel on one side of the bator. The chicks seem to get a kick out of climbing on it and using it as a pillow at nap time.

Ohhhh, My hovabator doesn't have a coil but it is the newer one with a fan and digital temperature and humidity readings.

Ive only used it once and it worked AMAZING for a novice! My shipped eggs I got 8 out of 11 and the two that didn't hatch had saddle air cell! I say that's a pretty awesome hatch for shipped eggs! :)
the genesis has the heating element built into the fan housing. much nicer design.
