Tablet taking tips needed

My vet has given me huge (1"diameter) 500mg penicillin tablets for my maran hen's bumble foot and told me to give her 3/4 twice a day for 7 days. She won't let me give them to her orally and struggled when I open her beak and finds the pieces in the food now. Before I hid tiny pieces in cheese but she's got wise. The pieces are pink and don't taste nice so does anyone have any tips they can share please ?!

Use a pill cutter to quarter the tablet, or smaller. Then have someone hold your hen. Pull her wattles down and her mouth will open. That's when you put a quarter tablet in her mouth and let go of the wattles so she can swallow it. (Be quick about it.) Repeat until completed with the daily dose.
If she shakes her head while holding on to her wattles, dont let go, she'll tire.

Thank you, I'll have a go ! She wasn't having me opening her beak and I was trying crushed tablet in Greek yogurt which she likes. Will try this method. Unfortunately she has cottoned on so avoiding me. Will grab her before I let her out of the run and when she goes in at night. Hope she gets to trust me again later!
