Tacky Coop and Run Contest 2011: Winners Announced!

I will try and get some more up in the next couple days. It was snowing and cold today. I have the adult room done. Working on teen room. This spring I want to have nursery up and going. There will be more pics as I go. Lol. Atleast here people appreciate my love for chickens. Ps I live in the country by a junkyard so it blends in with the other stuff lying around haha

I spent a YEAR looking for an old trailer to convert to a coop and couldn't talk anyone into giving me one!
So, I got the next best thing---A fireworks stand!

After some paint and roofing of various types:

Those flaps along the middle open up as awnings over the wire covered windows.
There are more pictures in a thread I started about it (the link is in my signature).
It isn't quite finished yet, still need to put in roosts and nest boxes, cut pop-holes, and put up the roll of chain link fencing for the run.
It's 8'x32' and it's divided into 4 square rooms, one for storage, one for incubating/brooding, and 2 for breeding coops.
We call it our "Phantom of the Coopera" because it was a Phantom fireworks stand and hubby *had* to leave one of the phantoms unpainted

Edited cuz I forgot to put the name of the coop.

Shhh. I'm trying to talk dh into buying me a new trailor. My exscuse is because we have 3 kids and need more room. (its only a two bedroom and I would love 3bedrooms) another reason is so I can use this one for another barn. Haha I keep thinkin imagine all the chickens I could fit in here! Not counting the six I already have in the bathtub and Albert the house polish.

Oh the SPACE! I mean really, the SPACE! That thing is incredible.

What's even more incredible is how much it DIDN'T cost me!
The fireworks stand cost $200. I gave my brother my old hot tub that I don't use anymore, he paid for the fireworks stand and is doing the conversion work for me. It's going slowly, but it should be ready for when I get my Barnevelder eggs to hatch and fill this coop!

my wife has put up with a LOT of "THROWN TOGETHER OUT OF WHATEVER I CAN FIND" coops but shes NEVER,EVER let me have some of yalls stuff
