I am fortunate enough that I can sell all the eggs I can get. I have people that want to pay me in advance for eggs that are not even laid yet!! About once a week or so I find a smushed egg in a nesting box. Wanna ask "Who did this? Did you know this egg was sold?!!???!"
Just minor irritations of life

I guess that would be frustrating to say the least! Especially since they are already spoken for before they are even laid yet!!

I think your chickens are teaching you an alternate version of "don't count your chickens before they're hatched."

And I just hate it when I'm rushing to get off to work in the morning, forget to take the egg basket when doing early AM coop chores, put an egg in my pocket, and then bend over for something... and smush the egg. Makes a mess of the jacket and one less egg to sell. We're in the same situation with eggs. I mention in conversation that we have chickens and everyone wants eggs! I'm increasing the flock by 10 this year so we'll see if that works. I would really like to have something more than bantam eggs for me to eat

I hear ya. My family only gets to eat the eggs that are really ugly or have hairline cracks!!!

Geeze, I had people asking me for eggs before my chicks even ARRIVED. People like homeraised eggs

But I'm raising laying hens for ME. I'll sell if I have extras and not before. That helps keep me from crying over every cracked egg XD
