Out of my 5 chicks, the oldest are 3 close to 3 weeks, one of them is developing tail feathers and the other two are not. Still no comb, but they are EE. Do early tail feathers mean roo for sure? I played rooster crowing from youtube all night, the chicks were not interested.

This waiting is killing me! I just want to know so I can know who to get atttached to!

edited to add some pictures from today. I know they are probably too young, any guesses?

I too have been playing the guessing game we have been looking at the tail feathers, combs, colors everything. It's pretty fun though.

I will post in a few days. I just did a few days ago and was told they are too young lol.

I think no. 2 is a pullet. That's a BIG difference in tail feathers.
And I think no. 3 is a roo. The comb looks really obvious.

No. 1 looks roo-ish by tail feathers but I'm not sure.

And the other two are really small yet but I'm going to guess roo for no. 4 and pullet for no. 5.
That's purely based on no. 5's teeny tiny little beginnings of a tail.
Also no. 4 has a huge crop and all the chicks I've ever noticed be so greedy have always been roos...

They are all very pretty whatever they are. I really wish EEs were available over here in the UK...

3 I think is roo 5 I think pullet others idk but 4 is beautiful and would just say it's a roo cause the ones I like as chicks almost always turn out to be male
