TAIL FEATHERS

My brother-in-law stopped by and low and behold decided to let my German Shepherd in the same pen as the chickens. Needless to say he went right for my RIR roo. He survived but now has no tail feathers. He is fine. How long will it take to get a full new tail.

Yipes...I would guess it would be a while...especially when you look at how long it takes for them to grow a full tail in the beginning...just a wild guess though

I would expect him to molt before those new feathers come back in but I really am only guessing. I haven't had that happen so this is only an educated guess.

I had to clip some feathers off one of my birds butts once because it got poopy butt and it wouldn't wash off. I don't remember the weeks it to grow back but it was several. Now I can't tell who I clipped and who I didn't.
