take a hens chicks

We have a hen who has chucks we have posts On the top of the coop and she has gone up there with the rooster. How do I get the chicks I think she has left them is it okay to take them away without her attacking me and. It is really cold I need help fast.

I. Are these newly hatched or older chicks(feathered out completely). If they are very young chicks, I would take them away from her whether she was angry or not. You said it is very cold out. Can you make a quick brooder for them? You could use a large Rubbermaid clear color tote (leave top off) and fix up a brooder light (from feed store).
