i went out and looked before i shut them in.
there is 5 black/greyish colored ones and 1 little yellow one with a brown streak on its head and down its back.
since there in my grandfathers coop im hopin he'll let me keep the first one that hatched and the little yellow one. :)
ill post pics tomorrow either when i get back from school or in the morning if we dont have it bc of the snow were supposed to get tonite.

I love the little ones! I haven't had my girls long enough to have chickies yet..these pics make me want spring to come yesterday! I can't wait to post pics of my own little angels!
And that hen is a clever momma to hide her nest in there.

but im about to go out and get pictures of any new chicks and all the original chicks dried off. more pics to come in about 30 mins! :)

i know theres a chick.
its peeping.. and has a pip...
what can i do if she keeps pushing it out from under her!!!!????
i dont have an incubator....or a heat lamp.. or a heating pad... wat can i do to help it!!!
i dont know if its going to make it bc she keeps pushing it out from under her!!!!! what can i do!!!???

There's really nothing that you can do if you don't have a heat lamp to isolate the chicks...I'm sure you'd agree, "its life and death on a farm" (just like when your rabbit lost all of her kits)...at least in this case there's 9 healthy chicks out of the hatch. Hopefully she'll sit on it long enough to let it hatch but if she doesn't, well, she still did a great job.
