Taking broody with eggs off nest

I have just set some eggs under my broody hen. I have to take her off the nest daily to eat and do her business or she will not get off at all. My question is when incubating eggs everone talks about lock down the last 3 days. Should I leave her on the nest the last few days. She only stays off for 10 minutes or so and goes back to the nest herself.

She probably gets off, but you just don't see her....I'll bet you can't watch her 24-7. Don't worry, just let her handle things.

I have a broody hen. My wife is all worried that she is going to starve to death cause she is always on the nest. I asked her if she had seen any poop in the nest. She said "No", so I said then she must be getting up to poo and I'm sure she's going out for food and water and maybe a smoke.
