Taking Chickens to vacation home

I have 3 young laying hens and am curious if anyone takes their chickens with them for extended vacation trips? We have a vacation home less than 3 hours away that we occasionally visit for a few weeks at a time. We would have a secure coop and run at both houses. Anyone attempt this or see problems with it? The hens were laying when I bought them and never let up through the initial transition, which seems good. I'd love to keep our girls with us when we go away for a while!

If you only have the three, then it would be easy to take them with you.
You can put them in a box or dog crate during the trip.
I'm sure they'll enjoy the new surroundings.
They may stop laying for a little while, but that's normal.

Sure, it would be just fine. I use a pet carrier to move mine - not all of them. They do stink in the car!
