Taking eggs to the Philippines - am I nuts?

No I will not even put forth the effort the government is extremely slow and corrupt here ...
it a total waste of time, here in the sjo airport the screening is quite lax I have brought very unique items in over the years ( nothing illegal ) of course ...
I'm gonna carry 4 dozen and the bator and a suitcase of fishing gear just bypass the luggage scanner a X-ray and proceed with my bator and reciipt to offer to pay duty and should breeze on through with the eggs around my shoulder
I mean no offense and I'm anxious to meet like minded people as far as chickens in CR goes so I'm sure we can work things out and I'm familiar with the government there. That said, transporting poultry or eggs across national borders without the paperwork IS illegal. I would even be fearful on the USA end without paperwork.
As far as I know, it's also illegal to take eggs across most state lines without being NPIP certified. I can't afford the fines.
The USA and CR have a fairly cozy relationship for shipping fowl and eggs between the two because both are declared free of exotic Newcastle disease so doing the paperwork, being legal and not carrying avian disease across national borders wouldn't be a bigger hassle than it's worth for the welfare of all involved.
Good luck and let me know how it works.

How have ur hatch rates been oz ? Last year me and my wife each flew back with neon beer sighns for our bar and they are as fragile as eggs if not more so and it was no problem once I had a Seth Thomas mechanical clock in my carry on u should have seen the tsa officers face when the xrayed that they cleared the check point to all get a look at the monitor the guts of that clock looked like a time bomb ! Lol

So I have read u were my final insparation to give it a go 280 is a ton in a carry on I was just thinking about 4 doz this trip as I have a ton of fishing gear and some harley parts and the bator
4 doz will fit in a normal size carry on using the foam i suggested

I put mine in a golf bag and check it.

I will chicken canoe I will post here often as oz and his thread are my inspiration and as far as the illegal part goes I'm sure it is not kosher to the letter as were the silver queen corn and blue lake bean seed and other things I have brought in over the years but when you live out of the country as we do some things u just can't live without ,,, here a twenty dollor hand out to a customs official will get u a pat on the back and a good day to ya sir it's not kosher as well but is the lay of the land here worst case they don't take the twenty (witch is 10000 c) to them and take the eggs but that is a very rare occurrence here and for the offence none taken,,,

Golf bag ,,, nice I'm gonna go man purse and a carry on to boot and check the fishing gear and bator in January I checked four cases of frozen Jimmy dean roll breakfas sausage and it slid on by no sweat raven on this end ,, the x ray all luggage after u clear customs they say it is a ag check but they are looking manly for big ticket items the locals fly back loaded for bear with house hold appliances and electronics and try and cheat duty so they don't seem to mind things of little of no value

Myself as well nothing illegal ! I stand pat on that ,I don't feel a Turkey or a ham a few hatching eggs as the crime of the century to be honest I have no idea what the law here states and will allow them to correct any thing they do not like with upmost respect !

And canoe I too know the government here quite well as I am a us government employee, our trade mission here is plagued by set backs with the cr ministers in various departments after the passage of cafta we all thought things would be more expedient but alas it is not to be it is just the cultraual difference every two years the ministers change and we start all over again it is the way it works here alot of infighting and bickering they get mad get fired and move on and we start again it's accepted by the ticos and x pats alike but enough we are not here to interped int law or poltics where here to talk fowl , lol
