Hello there,
After close to two years of hemming and hawing, researching and stalking the baby chicks at the feed store we are going for it!

I'm waiting until closer to the end of the school year so we can stay close to home while the chicks are little.

The kids and I are excited about this new adventure and my husband is just along for the ride though.

Hello and :welcome. I sounded just like that a few years ago when I first started getting chicks, my husband didn't want any part of it and said go ahead, I'm not feeding them in the winter. I really thought hard about that considering I live in upstate NY and it gets really nasty during the long winters. Anyway, I decided to go for it and of course my husband immediately took to my Black Jersey Giant, (he is huge now). I have 45 plus chickens of different breeds and am getting some more in a couple weeks. Have you decided what breeds of chickens you want? That are so many informative sites here on BYC and always there are willing people to help. Good luck with you new adventure and if you have questions, just ask! :D

Yes, eventually all those peeping chicks in the feed store get to your heart.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Welcome to our flock!

I noticed that after I loaded up the photo as I was only trying to introduce the new duckling and I was more afraid of the chicks attacking the new guy but they didn't so now they all are getting along just fine so I guess size matters ....

Anyway I do change the caption under the photo every now and then as they do look like they are in formation ...
