I have a Hen that was on her own for 7 months. She is quite sure that the new large coop is just for her. This past weekend we bought five new hens. She refuses to let them into the coop house to nest. She gets along well with them in the yard. What do I need to do to teach her to share so that the egg laying can begin? Do I need to crate her alone for a few days to let the others get used to the house?

Thanks for the help

Looking forward to hearing some answers. I'm probably going to have the same problem in a week. Adding three 10 week olds to a lone 4 year old. How long have you had the new ones?

That can work. I'd crate her outside in the run with some shade, water and food during the day. You can also make a second pop door so she can't sit in the one entrance and keep them from coming in.
