Hi all ! I've never posted on here so I'm hoping for some help, lol. I have a heritage bronze tom turkey a bronze hen and a narragansett hen. Both of the hens laid in one nest until one went broody and then the other one went off to make her own nest. Tuesday the first nest started hatching and I got to see all the poults yesterday...to my surprise 4 of them are yellow! So my question is, "are they Naragansett poults? " They look like they have some faint makings, are they like chickens and the markings develope later as they feather out? TIA!!

Congrats on the poults! And welcome to BYC!

Narragansett poults aren't yellow according to the pictures I've seen. It could be that in crossing the Narragansett with the Bronze you got an entirely different color out of them! That would be really cool.

Best of luck to you!

If your tom is pure bronze. Almost all the poults out of the narri. Should look bronze. At least a hatching.

Could you post some pics. Of all the birds. Might help someone i.d. them.. plus are always cool to look at.

:welcome

These are blurry but I can try to get better ones tomorrow. I found some pics today of N poults and it actually showed some just like these...but I don't always believe everything I google, lol :p

Your narri hen wouldn't have been crossed to a royal palm in her lineage.

That might result in yellow poults.

I just hatched some out of a mix pen. Have some more that should hatch next week.

Kinda fun to see what hatches. Then to watch them grow and see what colors develop.

Congrats on all your babies.

I don't know what her background is like, lol. I will have to look at some pictures of the royal palms...hmmm. I have a dozen of the poults leaving today but I am keeping two of the white ones just to see how they turn out! :p

I think there is a possibility that if she has some palm.

If the yellow ones have a streak of darker feathers on their back you might have sweetgrass poults.

I have never heard of a sweet grass either :p Are they the same as the royal palms? One of them had some marks for sure, I will have to try to get another look at them...Mom is very protective now that I took most of her brood, lol. Thanks so much everyone! I'll keep you up dated and try to get some better pictures soon! :D
