Amaryllis work well down here too. I impulse bought this one last year at a big box hardware store (most of mine are handovers), was really pleased with the color. I'm thinking of ordering a couple of exotic ones from Brent and Becky bulbs.

Couple of skippers from this week, spread wing skippers I can usually id LoL. Typical skippers, not very cooperative for photos.

I bet it would be fine. I actually will throw on some old clothes and intentionally plant in weather like that because the plants seem to take easier with less heat or sun stress the first day or 2.
