All in all....If I have known what I now know about keeping chickens I will think twice, three, four times about having them.
The fact is that when I saw those little fluffy tiny cuties walking about, all logic gone out the windows, I am not thinking anymore, I just want to hold those fluffy tiny thing with cutie eyes and rub those tiny cuties on my face...egg was not in the picture, let alone anything else.
The mountain of work and maintenance come as needed, and as I learn more about chickens, I work on prevention and that is a lot of work. These last 2 weeks I review about certain thing and I am also upset about it.
Awhile back I got from the internet that picking up chicken poops on the ground regularly prevent chickens eating worm eggs in their poops thus less worm infestation and repeating of worms in chickens. I did that for many years and still I found my chickens with long worms when my chicken poops and the long worms spring back inside their vent. I was very upset. I worm my chickens whenever I see that, I do not worm them on schedule 1 or 2 a year and I found I worm them more than 2 a year the way I do it....I am reviewing. The endless wet weather is one of the contributing factors to this nasty worm issue.
