I talk to my chickens and it relaxes me. I argue with my guineas and lose.

I talk to mine. My mom has full blown one side arguements with them. The conversation mostly goes, "how come you aren't laying an egg today. Are you just free loading today?".... the response is always silence. Lol

I talk to mine about income tax law, milk substitutes, Hungarian history and politics, celebrity gossip, sea turtle mating rituals, fashion, dual currency economics ... they seem to know as much as I do about all of that.

You mean there are people who DON'T talk to their chickens? I feel sorry for them and their birds!

I always congratulate hens when they produce eggs and scold them when they hide and scare me. Honey knows that when I say, "Where's my fine hen?" I'm clearly talking to her and her alone.

Of course I talk to my chickens! I have conversations and tell them good morning and goodnight. I compliment them on how pretty their feathers look today or scold them for squeezing under the fence (again). It's not weird, I'm totally not weird.

Yeah you can’t win an argument with a guinea fowl... I once saw one argue with a stump for hours... eventually the stump apologized and walked away.

Of course I do, I talk to everyone all the time , babies when they can't answer back, people of forums etc so why not chickens! My favourite that I've been doing every since I got my first babies is when I go out with treats I call 'Here chookie chookie chookies' and where ever they are in the garden they come running / low flying at me as fast as they can - it is hysterical. I also figure a very, very good way of getting them to me quickly if we ever have predator issues .
