I understand that pheasant chicks are a little more skittish than chicken chicks, but is there a way to tame them down a little? This particular group of black melanistics is completely spazzy if you just breath wrong. I worry about giving them little pheasant heart attacks.
I'm just trying to figure out the best way of handling them - we will be moving them to a bigger brooder later on this week and they are already getting hard to catch at just over a week old.
At least they eat less than the chicken chicks so far. Those little monsters are pigs with feathers.
