tape worms

Can you post a photo? Are the white dots moving? Sometimes I have seen small specks of what looks like feed, but isn’t tapes. If they are tapeworms, the best treatment is praziquantel. You can use Eqimax equine wormer 0.03 ml per pound. A 5 pound chicken would get 0.15 ml. Here is a video of tapeworms:

It's probably a good idea to worm your entire flock.
Dose each one separately straight to the beak.
@Eggcessive remind me...is treatment for tapeworms 3 days in a row or the regular one dose and then again one dose in 10 days?

The posts I have read from @casportpony just say to dose them, and it doesn’t say whether or not to repeat the dose later. If using Valbazen, it does require several treatments.
Oh, my one book says when using Praziquantel to repeat in 10-14 days. Praziquantel dose is 10 mg/kg (4.54 mg per pound).

With tapeworms, it's not necessary to worm the whole flock, only birds showing segments in feces. Remember, a bird has to eat an infected insect. Not all birds eat infected insects.
However with nematodes, (all roundworms,) it's always best to worm the whole flock.

I prefer to cage and treat birds with tapeworms. It prevents the segments from ending up in the soil where they release hundreds of eggs and insects eat them and become infected eventually. After I treat the birds, I like to see the whole tapeworm(s) excreted. That way I know it's dead. I always reworm 10-14 days later too.

WormGuard Plus contains DE and other contents which are ineffective in treating worms.
Go to TSC and buy Equimax horse paste for $12.99 and worm your birds.
I've dealt with tapeworms and know how to treat them.

Here are a few pics of two Black Stars caged in the garage that were infected with tapeworms. In one pic you can see the segments on the paper (39.99) pointed out with toothpicks.
Then in the other pic shows treatment using praziquantel in the horse wormer, you can see where the tapeworm was excreted by one of the hens in the cage. You can see the toothpick pointing at the long tapeworm strands that were inside the hen.
When birds are infected with tapeworms, it's best to systematically follow your birds around in the yard first thing in the mornings after you let them out of the coop and watch each bird take apoop. Make a note which birds' poop has segments in it, then isolate the infected birds and treat them accordingly. Depending on how many birds you have, it might take 2 or 3 days to find out which birds are infected. Make sure you do it when you first let your birds out in the mornings. Out of 24 birds, I've had as many as 5 or 6 caged at once treating them for tapeworms. And yes, I have the cages, also for hurricane evacuation.
