Holy time consuming, Batman! That's so pretty! I hate to ask, but how long does something like that take you to make?

Gorgeous piece! My grandmother tried many, (MANY!) years ago to show me how to tat. I got a little bit of it down, but it's been so long ago, I can't remember any of it. I'd like very much to learn. That is lovely work you've done.

Beautiful doily!! Is it 20 rows...did I count that correctly?
I have tatted yards of straight lace for my daughter's baby dresses (she is 32 now) using my great grandmother's shuttles.
I was taught how to tat back in 1979.
There are newer publications on tatting now (try Amazon.com). It's becomming popular again.

It is BEAUTIFUL! And I must say Im laughing my behind off cause these days anyone I know who says "tatting" means tattoos! Hilarious! Once I saw your photo load I just laughed! My granny taught me just one stitch of crochet (she had no boys so I asked to learn) before her hands got too bad. Hmmm....Maybe I should call her. Bye. I gotta make a call. She is 92 so you never know.

Oh I love it!

I have my Danish Grandma's tatting shuttle and her well used old DMC thread tin.

I would love to learn to actually use them!

isn't that crochet...? what's tatting...?

and it's funny, because my mother taught me how to crochet, and knit... my three older sisters didn't learn how, and i'm the youngest boy... LOL... now, i knit a lot... but this looks interesting... what do you use...?
