Taxidermied Duck...What species?

My mom bought this duck along with a full black bear mount in the summer. It looks like it's tail has been ripped off. My mom and dad say it's a woodduck, and I'd have agreed because of the shape of the head, but in my bird book, a wood duck hen seems to look nothing like this. If im wrong and it IS a wood duck let me know. I wanna settle this hahaha!

thanks guys!!! I KNEW it wasnt a woodduck!!!!!! I'll tell them what it is but my dad will just stick to his guns...

he tried telling me theres different colors of woodducks....this i didnt agree with....either but who am i to say....

Monarc, your Dad is right Wood Ducks come in several different colors.

I know wood ducks come in normal and silver for sure. Mandarins come in normal, white/apricot (not sure if they are diff colors), and I have heard that they have black mandarins out there somewhere.
I say google the gadwalls and show your dad the pic and the title of gadwall, lol.
