Teach me all you know.

Sandee and Terri, I totally understand where you both are coming from. I think everyone should have a functioning knowledge on the basics. I can't wait. I have helped my Cousin hatch, feed, and slaughter chickens for food...although,at one point,I almost passed out. Feel free to laugh. He did. Point is,I learned, and had fun doing it. The slaughter wasn't fun but educational. We gotta get back to the dirt.

you are so much stronger than I. Don't be embarrassed by passing out - it should be hard to take a life- that's why it has to be done humanly and with respect for the animal.

Drumstick Diva, you're completely correct. It should be hard. In the same respect though, I have started to look at it like this...if you raise your stock or fowl with respect and care and give them a good life, they are giving back to you if you intend to use them for the dinner table. I read a book called Barn Heart. I suggest it for everyone. It helped me see that side a bit easier.

Has anyone ever ordered fowl from Murray Mcmurray Hatchery? If so,could you please share your experience with them with me please?
