I was wondering if you could teach 5 year olds to drink from nipple waterers? They have been brought up to drink from an open waterer and now I have too many to keep it clean daily.

Probably...it would take time and patience.
It's best not to do it during very hot or cold spells,
as you need to remove all other water sources but the nipples,
and you don't want to risk dehydration during extreme weather.
Just keep tapping the nipple trigger, usually if you get one drinking they rest will catch on.
