TeaChick's Chicks

Great! =)

Ah, man. =(

Yeah hopefully she fully recovers!

Some of the points I missed are due to the quiz not being written right, so I should be able to get those. But I don't think that I'll get enough to get out of the D range. =( Oh, well, I should be able to get at least a B in the course, especially if I can get full credit on the discussion board.

Thanks. I'm sure she will. =)

Yeah I hope you get an A in the course!

Yeah. =)

If I get full credit for the discussion board, I'll still only get a B+. I can reasonably expect to get full credit on the discussion board, except that I'm still waiting for a post I can reply to. The one that's there, the girl didn't even follow the instructions.

I lost a hen yesterday morning. I went to let the chickens out of the coop and there was some feathers by the door. When I opened the door, there were feathers all over the coop and Mopsy was in the back dead. She didn't have a mark on her and Eddie had blood all over him, especially on his wings. IDK what it was, but I guess it was a predator??? None of them wanted to sleep in the coop last night and they slept on the back porch on the brooder.

I have one-week pics of my latest hatchlings and a new set of pics of all my Cochin chicks. I'm posting them small, but you can click to enlarge them. =)
The light chipmunk chick ~ feather out about like Eddie:

This one is peach; IDK what she'll look like???? Any guesses are more than welcome!!!

The dark chipmunk ~ about like Georgette:

Here are pics of my white Cochin chicks. =)
Lavender (I thought it was going to be lavender, blue, or splash; appears to be a cockerel)

Robert Downey, Jr. (named after the actor, appears to be a pullet)

Prima Donna (smallest and a loud mouth, appears to be a pullet)

Smooth Cochin chicks; 9 weeks old tomorrow, not sure whether they're Bantam or not, trying to find out but I'll probably have to wait.

It's one thing to have backyard chickens, I've even heard of back porch chickens, but mine think they're front door chickens!!!

Sorry for your loss, sounds like Eddie did his best to protect her though.

Great pictures! Love the fist one especially!

Thank you.
Yes, he's a wonderful rooster; it's earned him a place where I'm moving too, even though I don't really have room for three roosters (well, technically, six, but three LF).

Thanks! =) Yeah, she's super cute! They all are, but she's photogenic. The lightest one is the most unusual; he color doesn't photograph well. I'll have to get DD to take pics of her with her digital camera; maybe, the higher resolution will help, maybe, we'll take her outside to do it. We'll see. Either way, I'm going to have to wait until DD is feeling better. She's had a headache for the past few days and she woke up with a fever this morning.

Here's my update, there's no big news, but here's the update anyway.

I went to where we're moving to. Me and the kids are cleaning there and getting things ready for the animals and figuring out where things are going to go and all that moving stuff.
My friend and I spoke about what we're going to do with the chickens.
~ It looks like we're going to be able to put Eddie and Marty in with the LF hens.
~ All the Cochin chicks can go in together temporarily, and my three new hachlings can go in there too.
~ All the "big chicks" are going in together.

We're all set, so far anyway...

What's going on with the ppl is that DD is sick, so I'm down one dishwasher and an afternoon baby-sitter.

I'm beginning to twitch from not having eggs in the incubator. I'm consoling myself with my plan to start warming some on the 24th and begin incubation on the 25th. That way they should hatch out on my youngest's birthday. We're so excited!!!

Hope all is going well with all of you! Let me know what's going on and how you're all doing. =)
