Teaching Chickens to use Auto Feeder

They find the feeder as a big silver monster that will gobble them up. This doesn't help

Chickens, unless there is something innately wrong with them; I have found their memory is about 3 days. When I was home, many years ago, and we just had eating rather than breeding birds, with my son and my mother-in-law had passed away. My son and I would stand over the birds. Every time one laid an egg we snatched it up. Within 3 days, whomever was the egg eater stopped. Long story short, it many require persistence, and time, but retraining a chicken can happen.

You could do like a lot of others that have bought one of those-----put it in the barn or sell it and pour some feed in a pan. Works great for me!

That is what we do. We feed them once a day to deter rodents.
