The book is worth reading. The sequels... I'm still not sure about the second and third, but after those I couldn't finish more.

I think I missed the last movie of the series, I vaguely remember it involved Vin Diesel doing it more like a cheap independent film. There was also a pretty good video game called Escape From Butcher Bay that functioned as a prequel that I played about half-way through. Diesel was involved in that one too.

Pitch Black and CoR are the only ones I've seen, didn't know about the video game, but I sort of get a Dune'y feel to it.
