How sweet, thank you for sharing! We have had a helped hatch as well, he had to be helped out of the shell and then when he got a little bit older he survived a hawk attack, his name is Faith.

we’ve had at least three chickens with Crossbeak, did trimming it fix the beak? Or would that only work if they were a day old.

Crossbeaks are so sweet... I lost mine in october. Harry wasn't a day old when the crossbeak started developing... He was around 4wks old. If you treat it wjile it's still developing you could possibly stop it but I don't know really have experience with this

I found that if it’s just their top beak that’s crooked it won’t affect the lower beak, but my sister had one that had the lower beak completely crossed she only made it to six months died on her birthday.

Crooksie was the same age when she passed I think... She ran after my dog when he escaped throught an open gate. The dog came back... Crooksie didn't. He would not kill her. They were best friends. They even ate out of the same bowl! After I inspected the feathers that I found it looked like she could be attacked by a bird ir cat. They are now in heaven together...
