So, a few months ago mum RIR hen hatched two eggs and they've finally started showing their permanent colors. One of the chicks was the baby of my silke mix roo but the hen has no discrimination to who’s eggs she sits on so it’s possible for him to be from any of my hens. Anyways, he’s a few months old and very strange looking (in a good way) and I was wondering if there could be a technical color combination to describe him.

I believe the technical term is: ‘Kytch-un-zinc’

Because he has a little bit of everything ;)

Actually there is no real standard color or pattern name to describe him...

But he might be called “incomplete Colombian, red shouldered golden, with red leakage”... or something like that...

I’d just call him a ‘Zinc’ ;)

I like him though!

Here’s my own ‘blue zinc’ cockerel... He’s seven kinds of ugly... but we expect that he’ll grow out of at least 3 of those

Can you let us know what hens and roos you have, we might be able to tell the breeds off his parents based of his characteristics and breed possibilities.

I’d say legbar and maran mix for now.

Dad is 100% the Silkie mix (not sure what other breed was involved it’s my profile if you want a reference) because of the feet feathers. I have a black sexlink, Isa brown, ayam cemani, RIR, and a white hen that’s I thought started with an m but it could be a white rock?? We also have a barred rock roo but he also has a chick and it looks nothing like patchwork up there :gig
