I cannot believe the amount of coverage Ted Kennedy is getting here in MA. For the last few days whenever you turn on the television that is all they are talking about. How about in other parts of the country, is it just a Massachussetts thing? Or is it nationwide?

At least it slowed down the Michael Jackson coverage.

There is a lot of national coverage but I can imagine that there is a lot more in MA.
It occurred to me the other day, and this is morbid but true, that news organizations have obituaries and "a look at the life of..." specials produced and just waiting ....
Now I'm going to sit back and see how long it takes this thread to morph into a political foodfight and get closed!

I'm not trying to start a fight but.. If you are at least 40 years old, you will know that ted kennedy did alot for the poor and middle class of this country. I have a mentally handicapped daughher and the kennedy's did more for mental health reform than any person, family or organization. For this I will be eternally grateful. They created special olympics and alot of reform for mental health. I don't mind the coverage for senator kennedy, at least they did not prolong the burial to make money like the jackson family. It's been two months and poor michael still is not buried.

It has been Nationwide. With the passing of the Kennedy Patriarch; an era has ended. However, he tried to set in motion legislation that would protect our future for generations to come.
I prefer to see all this coverage of someone who gave himself for public service than all the hype that we have had to endure with the Jackson drama. He was a great entainer but, someone has to be very shallow to want to continue to follow this tabloid muck!

It is everywhere. I just grumbled, said good riddens and turned off the danged TV.

He will be in the ground soon and hopefully it will all be over.
