Does this nest make my butt look big?

This is Versace – a 2 year old Splash Orpington Roo. Versace was testing out the nest boxes while our Buff Orpington Pullet Buffy was laying in the recycle box.

Blondie (White Cochin) patiently waiting for the recycle box to be empty. Blondie has gone broody and is managing to talk EVERYONE into laying in “her” box so she can set their eggs. ( Soon Blondie soon, Gumpgirls eggs will be here and you can hatch adorable Orpingtons.)

So…Versace asks……Does it?

(I told him it DID!)

Thank you all. He is quite a character. “New” to us from a BYC member, he is out of quarantine for about 10 days and working hard to woo our girls and steal them from 4 Bantam cockerels. I have not yet “merged” him and his two original girls into the coop; they still sleep in the q “coop” but are out loose during the day. As soon as I open the gate, Versace RACES to the front yard to find the young girls………….leaving the 2 older ones to fend for themselves.

Working on his looks.

Hard work to look this good

Being environmentally aware, he likes to bathe together – here with the two “older” girls (2 year old - EE Chloe left and Cochin Sylvia right)
