My girl is broody. CONSTANTLY. Even before she laid an egg, and Even right now - with NO eggs. And then, she cuckles at EVERYTHING. She gives everything the wary eye.....She hardly ever lays, it seems, but she is real nice to look at.

I can say one thing - she NEVER causes problems with the other birds.

I have 7 partridge cochins standard. I LOVE THEM. They (despite what the book said about them not being good layers)laid up a storm last year and through most of the winter. They would go broody every month seems like. they are gentle, pretty,docile,quiet....I could just go on. I just got an incubator and waiting for them to start back up laying. I will incubate lots of their eggs for more of them.

I have a Partridge Cochin roo, Boss, and he is the BEST roo EVER! I love him to pieces!! He is an awesome protector AND he protects the kids and I from the other roo who likes to attack! He chases him all the way back to the coop anytime he comes after us. He is as beautiful as he is sweet!

I have about 6 cochins, 1 black bantam, 1 partridge, 2 buff, and 2 golden laced (my project). The golden laced ones are about 1 month and 2 weeks old so i dont know how they are going to do in the mixed flock but there parents that are in my mixed flock do pretty well. They wont stand up for themselves and are really independant. But they are great critters and my partridge at 1 year has already gone broody and hatched out my golden laced chicks! (and of course i had to add a few chicks that i hatched out.. And actually my cochin chicks are at the top of the chick pecking order but lets see how long that lasts..)

I went outside about 9:00 this a.m. to feed up and gather my eggs...and guess what...My Partridge Cochins have started back laying and apparently they all stopped at the same time so I guess they figured they would all start up at the same time. I have 7 of them, 2 roos and 5 ladies...well I had 5 eggs in the nest. I also just got me a new incubator and set it up this morning....so needless to say I will have some babies soon if all goes well.

All Cochins are awesome, big and bantams, smooth and Frizzle. I have bantams one black Frizzle and one smooth, a red Frizzle Cochin and Silkie/Cochin. They are all so soft and cuddly. I love Cochins.

pictures speak a thousand words One of my cochins ens fwith my roo Marshmellow, hen Isis and hen Doodle and their babies Isis hatched one andDoodle hatched the other two. Marshmellow is wonderful with the chicks and calls them to eat or drink all the time. He babysits better than the hens lol. Everything is soggy here from all the rain so excuse the color of my chickens feet.

Yeah I love my bantam cochins, I keep them in with my standard chickens and Fancy Pants can hold his own against my giant buff orp roo but he is really sweet for sure. Beatrice sits up int he rafters most of the day, just waits till everyone clears the area to go down and eat, then back up she goes. She doesnt like the attention from the big roos. I'm excited for my standards to come!

I have cochins...standard & banties..smooth & frizzled!!! We LOVE them! They are so sweet & gentle just like our biff orpington girls! They just started laying so I can't say alot about how many eggs yet but that's not the #1 reason why I got them...and I have egg layers to balance it out! They love attention and being held and are just so big and fluffy! My standard roo is a puppydog...gentle with the hens and gentle towards me & the kids! I have one aggressive banty roo...he's nice to his girls but mean towards us. I have another banty roo that is super sweet towards us but would fight till the death with the other banty roo! The Big Boy gets along with everyone and has absolutely no interest in a fight! Here's some pics!
