Tell me about... goats.

Goats curiosity and stubbornness is their main downfall but also their funniest.

Goats are like three year olds, they will get into everything, they are very determined and stubborn as a mule. Watch anything you hold dear when it comes to plants because they will eat it. They will also break fragile trees scratching

I just picked up 2 more baby goats this past weekend. So we now have 2 Nubians that are 7 months old and 2 Boers that are 4 weeks old. Goats are so much fun! Mine have about 3.5-4 acres to roam, a rock pile, tons of trees, creek, grass. They stay pretty content.

Goats are super curious so they might try to escape a pen that size. I don't know anything about dwarfs though, so they might do just fine. I would definitely get them some kind of shelter they can go in and something to keep them busy.

I have 2 Nigerian Dwarfs that are months old. A doe and a wether. I wanted them for over a year then got them for myself for my birthday/Mother's Day. I LOVE them and am so glad I got them, but goats are honestly created in Satan's workshop LOL. They are escape artists - takes me forever to find where they get out. After I fix it, they stay in... until I turn my back. Then they are back out of their pen munching the bushes, playing along the rock wall, or running around the yard. They eat hay - no alfalfa, just grass hay. Alfalfa causes crystals in male goats that can block their urethra to the point that their bladder can rupture. No grain or sweet feed - they don't need it unless you have a pregnant doe. I was giving them 1 cup of sweet feed a day and my vet said to stop immediately. The sugars or something in it can increase their chances of getting worms. They also get fruit and veggies every day - bananas, apples, and grapes are their favorites. They also love Cheerios lol. They have amazing personalities and are so funny to watch They also are completely spoiled lap babies, which was great when they weighed 5lbs (I got them at 5 & 6 weeks old) but now they are around 25lbs each and their hooves are lethal weapons. Thank God we got them debudded because the male (Shen) lives to ram my shins every chance he gets. My newest tactic for fighting that is my trusty old water spray bottle - it's miraculously working (kinda)! The female, Lily, is my little princess, although she is going into her first heat and won't stop humping her brother and jumping from the ground straight up onto my back. I enjoy her enthusiasm, just not the hooves. Oh, and just to be clear, they will be all cute and snuggly then - out of nowhere - they will pee on you. True story... ok stories - it has happened more times than I can count. Including on company lol. But honestly - if I could go back in time I would do it all over again. They are worth the frustration, time, effort, and... everything! They bring joy to my life every day I am all for more people bringing goat-lettes into their family. You're world will be turned upside down but you'll never regret it!!

These are my kids - Shen is the brown guy with the white toupee, Liky is the goddess in white and brown
