Tell me about your cell phones. I need advice on a plan.

I agree with everyone about the tracfones; net10's parent company is tracfone, and they have the exact same plans, but they have better phones, like a samsung slider. (Like a rant) You could also use T-Mobile to Go, Go-Phone by AT&T, or Virgin Mobile.

If you want cheap and functional, definatley Tracfone or Net10.

I have US Cellular. I pay $29.99 a month for 300 mins. But if you want something cheaper, a Tracfone probably is the way to go. That way you pay as you go. But be careful. Check out where you get service. Some places, like around here, don't have good coverage. The phone DOES make the difference. My first phone from them was the cheapest. It also made it the worst reseption. We got the phone about a month and a half before buying our second house. At that house, I had NO reseption. I only live 2 miles from town, but the phone was junk and couldn't pick anything up in the valley and pines. Most places let you try out a phone for about a month to make sure that it works where YOU need it to. I had to put up with that phone for almost a 2 years before they let me change it out. I could have changed it....but I would have had to buy a different phone and pay the FULL price of that phone. No thank you. Motorola is a good phone. That was the second phone I got, and I get reception where no one else can. Good luck. And do your research.

You might consider checking out the January issue of Consumer Reports. I heard that they have a great issue on cellphones, etc.
