She's beautiful! I've never heard of a houdan, reminds me of a polish. Very cool

They are similar, but houdans are larger, have 5 toes, and were originally bred to be dual purpose meat & eggs birds. My houdans are super sweet.
 

Mine is currently my molted houdan, Rhododendron (aka Rhodo). She is a very silly girl. She sometimes chases my cats and my houdan rooster around the yard.
I have 2 dippy houdans myself. One has forgotten how to get off the roost in the morning (she can get up there just fine)!

My profile picture is the first chick we ever hatched. He turned out to be a rooster which was pretty sad, especially seeing as he hatched at the same time my niece was born! We called him Button. He turned out to be a cross - mottled pekin (bantam cochin) mother and a silver leghorn father.
