Tell me EVERYTHING I need to know about turkey poults...

We have two issues here relevant to what you say because locals tend to treat poults the same as back yard chicks - that is, they do nothing much regarding temperature control, mosquito protection and diet. Mozzies we have sorted. For heat (night time only most days) I think that I shall have to import an infra red brooder lamp and hope that I can get spare bulbs. We can get protein enhanced feed but asking for a statement of it's content is a waste of time.

I hope to visit a professional breeder soon so some of those issues might be solved that way. We do treat them like babies so perhaps TLC will overcome any local issues. The poults that we have got off to a bad start thanks to the neglect of the breeder and our ignorance at the time but they are doing well now so perhaps we are getting it more or less right.

Well, I guess I forgot to add that the top of the tupperware has been cut out, and wire screen inserted in. So it's basically a wire top, we just used the tupperware top as a frame.

Not my first rodeo with this brooder either! It's been home to many baby chicks. Do you think this is OK for the poults, too?
