Tell me someone else out there has not gotten eggs yet this year? I have a 12 month old girl and a 9 month old girl in with a 12 month old tom. They get plenty of light (natural, 13+ hours/day), turkey grower pellets, fresh water, lots of room (just the three of them in an 8x12 coop) and the weather has been unseasonably warm.

I am anxiously awaiting my first egg. The suspense is killing me!!!

Then it is probably just bad luck that you have two hens that are slow to start laying. Sure sounds like you are doing everything right. Has the tom been doing the deed?

I think you are right LR, they're probably just slow! I have not seen the Tom do his thing... When I am outthere he is far too busy trying to impress me to pay any attention to his girls

people nearby have laying turkeys.... The lack of eggs from my own girls is so disappointing! Come on ladies, get to it!!!

I'm sorry but you ARE alone. LOL! No seriously, my girlies JUST started laying. The Bourbon hen had laid a few eggs but I was impatiently waiting for the Midgets to start. I put a pile of oyster shell in their coop and started giving them some fresh greens and three days later I got my first egg from them. They've graced me with an egg or two every day since then. My girls DO free range but I really think the addition of the oyster shell and/or the fresh greens is what got them jump started.

once the season hits, I switch to layer mash, everything to make an egg feed, am I right who knows (I do) 350 turkey eggs collected this year 49 hens, not counting today and 28 ringneck pheasants eggs 6 hens, relax this is just the start of the season!!!!!! all birds are not the same my beltsville started laying in feb!!!!! my fist egg last year was march14th tom!!
