I have been having a lot of fun listening to our various roos in the morning (and the rest of the day) It is amazing the variety of different crowing sounds that they make, and some just make me laugh every time I hear them. One of my sussex guys makes the most hilarious sound! He almost sounds like a donkey braying, 'oooooook uuuuurrr' over and over. THen there is one that does a full 5 syllable warble and you can sing cock-a-doodle-doo right along with him. THen there is the baritone who is a little shy & the tenor who usually breaks off in the middle to run screaming from Kingpin (who is not far from the pot - plain mean) There's the one who does great until the last syllable where his voice almost breaks every time; the cochin banties who sound SO adorable, and the silkies who sound like they're singing, our polish who will make your ears ring with his yell (he crows all day long) My daughter (4 yrs old) LOVES the polish Roy, everytime he crows she asks me to tell her what he is saying. This amounts to a full conversation between her and Roy while I do the chores! Gets to be tiring tranlating while doing chores, but then us mommies supposedly do great at the multitasking
