Tell me this is a hen......

Silkies can  be very slow developing. Are you not allowed to keep roosters where you live?


No I can keep him. Not sure if I should though because my flock is mostly larger hens. Barred rocks, BO, RIR, and SL Wyandotte. He might get himself killed or hurt lol. Right now I don't have a rooster at all. What do you think?

If breeding or egg production is a priority, then I would re-home him and get a standard sized rooster of a breed that has a reputation for being calm and gentle. If you're just keeping a rooster in the flock as a pet, then your Silkie rooster will make an excellent pet.

P.S. If it turns out that he is taking a beating from the larger breed hens, then I would re-home him anyway.
