I'd like to hear you funny chicken stories. I'm sure you all had one or two... I'll start with mine.

We took some young chickens into our house as a last resort when we had a predator problem. They soon discovered my bed, with me on it, of course. One day I was lying down with a book and I started getting sleepy. So I yawned, you know, one of those nobody's watching, nearly dislocate your jaw yawns. Closed my mouth and very nearly took my young roo's head off. Silly thing stuck his head into my mouth. I don't know which of us got the biggest fright!

Another incident that still makes me smile happened one morning. We had a good friend, who incidentally now got his own flock, round and I walked to the gate with him as he left. That took us past the chicken run. As we walked past one of my young roosters "crowed". I realised my friend wasn't following me anymore and turned around. He'd stopped in his tracks and was looking at me with this alarmed looked on his face. And asked me "What. The. F***. Was. That?!"

This may not seem funny to the rest of you... But i have 13 cherry egger chicks who are about 4 weeks old. They are in a wire dog cage with a heat lamp on them... And last night one of my chicks jumped up onto the feeder and stood as high as i could and was looking at how it could possibly escape the cage. One of the other largest chicks, who i am pretty sure is a rooster, ccame over and started trying to hop onto the feeder too. When it seemed to get mad becuz it couldnt get on, it finaly started trying to peck at the other ones feet... The chick on top of the feeder acted like its feelings were so hurt by getting pecked at by lifting its foot and almost hiding its head! It was the cutest thing, i couldnt stop laughing. It amazes me how much personality these chicks have!

Yesterday was kind of funny. (to me anyways!). My sister randomly came into my room and she was like, "You should take some pictures of me outside." I was like okay. She went over to take some pics by some flowers we have any every where we went, my chicken followed. She laid down for a little bit and was like "I feel like that chicken is just randomly gonna attack me!"

I had to take my roo out of the run because of pecking problems and he would play in the garden all day. well i left him out one day until it got dark. well being a worrier like me i paniced when i forgot he was out at 10 oclock! I ran to the coop to find no rooster in sight! I began to cry a little (my cousin was sleeping over at the time!) and my cousin Sage poked me and said, "Hey Kota?" I looked at her pointing finger and above my head a white fuzzy fro peered over the edge of a shelf. I was so happy and my cousin and I began cracking up! It was the most funniest thing ever!

Then my BO Lucy was out when the dog dug a hole under the coop and i was trying to get the dog to keep her away from the flock. well Lucy was pushing me away from her. I giggled and pushed her to the side not realizing she was protecting me...she died the next day to the same dog because she was protecting the flock. It was funny until she passed...it's sweet to think about why she did it now!

I GOT ANOTHER ONE!!!

Okay, so I have this one duck that gets picked on all the time. It's gotten so bad that when they are free-ranging she avoids every one else. I feel sorry for her, so every time she is alone, I call her to come follow me into the pen. The I get a hand full of food and give it just to her to eat. I gave her two small hand fulls then told her that was enough for now. Then I sat down, she sits there and looks at me! Then then she starts going back and forth between nibbling at the ground and looking at me. After I thought about it, it was totally obvious that she was trying to tell me she wanted more!!! It was the funniest thing! Then of course I had to give her another small hand full!

One of my girls is always up to mishchief, one night whilst I was out walking the dog I had a call from a neighbour to say that Doris was swinging on the washing line eyeing up the other gardens.

I've got ANOTHER one!!!

Okay, so as of now, I only have one adult chicken (who lives with four ducks). I also have three cats. Okay, so I was sitting outside on a trailer when my chicken came and sat next to me. The cat comes over and starts rubbing her head against the chicken (like they do) and the chicken gave her the FUNNIEST look! She was like "What is it DOING!!!!!"

ANOTHER ONE!! (sort of)

I thought this was kind of funny, though it is not technacally a chicken story. Anyways, so any one who has ever had ducks, has probably heard them when they do there little quack thing (you know they start out loud and then they keep quacking but get quieter). It was kind of funny. My sister's dog absolutely HATES baths. She was giving him a bath and he was whining and then my ducks went off. She's like "HA! They are laughing at you!!!!" The poor dog, but it was kind of funny.

I've got another duck story!!!! (I've already told five, I know :D)

So, one day when I was watering the lawn, My ducks came over. I sprayed them with the hose and then they looked at me as if to say "Why'd you do that?." Then, not surprisingly, they come walking right back over. I sprayed them again, and they run away. Then they come over and stop in front of me. They stand up as tall as they can and just wait. I sprayed them with the hose and they just sat there for a while. Then two of them go over to swim in the pond, so there is only one still there. She looks at me, then takes a small step towards the pond, then freezes. She kept doing that until she reached the pond. It was SO funny, I could not stop laughing!!!!
