I can usually tell in about 3 to 4 weeks(sometimes longer though) but I've had RIR's all of my life. The boys will have larger combs, waddles, legs, and the will be quite a bit larger most of the time.

Also like the PP said, the fat legs stand out and they grow big bright red combs early, while everyone else has pale yellow to barely-pink combs
