We got first set of chicks from our TSC, we have RIRs and are wondering how and when can we tell the sex of the chicks. Help please.

You will not be able to tell for a few weeks. I can usually tell in about 3 to 4 weeks(sometimes longer though) but I've had RIR's all of my life. The boys will have larger combs, waddles, legs, and the will be quite a bit larger most of the time.

My RIR roosters were the last chicks to get their tail feathers.

Also like the PP said, the fat legs stand out and they grow big bright red combs early, while everyone else has pale yellow to barely-pink combs
