Hi,

I recently bought ten supposedly "millefleur" pekin hatching eggs, but when they hatched they all came out different colours. I know millefleur are usually yellowy brown, but I had one pure black, one black and white, one brown and three the right colour. The brown one has stayed considerably smaller than the rest, whilst the others are all around the same size. My question is, is it possible to tell from such an early age what breed they might be if not millefleur. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

(p.s I think the brown one might be a brahma)

pics would help but the mille pattern in cochins from what i understand is still a work in progress

I'm a little wary of posting pics on the internet, but if you have any ideas anyway I would love to know. Thanks :)

without the pics most people will not answer as we cant see the birds. to determine breed there are a lot of things looked at such as body shape, the way the bird stands/holds itself, the comb, the color of the legs, ect...more than likely you got some project eggs.

I have some very early pics of them, they're a bit bigger now, but I might give you some idea...

(Around 2-3 days, black one at the back is my araucana)

(Just under 2 weeks, Black one centre back is a frizzle cross I picked up the other day, not one of mine.)
